Our church had our annual Missions Conference this last year. Interestingly, this also marked one year that I have been in Utah! It was at this time last year that I moved out West.
We had a varied assortment of visiting missionaries with us.
We had Bro. Clint Rardin from Mexico, and Bro. Dan Canavan from Ireland, both veteran missionaries.
In addition to them, we had two other families who are on deputation to go to the field for the first time.
The Cashner family is headed to Scotland, and the Thongdy family has plans to go to Cambodia.
The messages for the week were very challenging. They seemed to have a common theme of doing the work that Christ has given us in the time that He has given us.
In addition to the nightly messages, our pastor related the life of Spurgeon including anecdotes from his life and a documentary video of several important places in Spurgeon's life.
What a great example of the week's theme! He was truly a man who had dedicated his life to the Lord's work!
The week was tiring, as you might guess, but spiritually beneficial! I always appreciate these opportunities for spiritual reminding and renewing. It is a blessing to have our hearts rekindled with the message and work of the Gospel.
