At our school, we hold Mini-Regionals (for elementary), Regionals (high school), and Fine Arts Competitions (high school) in March. It makes for an extremely busy, hectic, stressful, and hopefully, rewarding experience every year.
Thankfully, Regionals and Fine Arts were combined this time. It was a bit crazy, mostly for the secretaries, to get everyone on the same page for events, judging forms, times, and so on. However, it kept the competitions from stretching out for another two weeks.

For several months preceding, the students practice everything from speeches, photography and music to chess, checkers, running, and sewing. It is kind of an all-inclusive opportunity to compete with the students' skills.

When the competition days arrive, it is two (very) full days of running from speech to ping-pong to violin playing to just plain running. In the end, though, the ones who worked hard are well-rewarded. Ideally, those who did not put so much into it are motivated to do better next time.

As a judge, it is so exciting to see the amazing talents that some of the children and teens have. Very impressive, often! Prayerfully, they will continue improving these skills so that they can be prepared to serve the Lord in a great way some day!
Hey I see my sister in law! :) Glad the competition went well! Wish we could have come too...although I was ok with only having our own competition to worry about this year! But, it's our turn again next year...:)
